2015 McClone Vineyard Zinfandel-ElDorado-ElDorado County. Established in 1983, the El Dorado AVA (also referred to as an ‘appellation’) includes those portions of El Dorado County bounded on the north by the Middle Fork of the American River, and on the south by the South Fork of the Cosumnes River. ElDorado is a sub-appellation of the Sierra Foothills AVA---one of the largest appellations in California.
90 points-2015 Bruce Patch Zinfandel McClone Vineyard – Crimson in color. 15.9% ABV. 95% Zinfandel and 5% Petite Sirah. McClone Vineyard is near Placerville in the ElDorado AVA. Subtle nose of red and black fruits, flowers, earth and pepper. Medium body with medium acidity. Well balanced. Tart cherry, iron and blood orange on the palate. Good length on the finish.
